Spanish Immersion Program

Spanish Immersion Program

Our Spanish Immersion Program offers complete immersion in a Spanish-speaking environment to foster cultural understanding, language acquisition, and bilingual benefits such as increased empathy, deeper connections, and self-confidence. Now expanded to include our new Infant Spanish Immersion for ages 12-18 months, alongside our established program for 18 months-6 years, this program develops individual growth, community bonds, and the growing value of Spanish proficiency, especially in the United States.

¡Bienvenidos!

We are thrilled to announce the opening of our first Spanish Immersion campus in North Austin, building on our 50-year Montessori legacy—now delivered fully in Spanish. With the addition of our Infant program, we’re excited to welcome even younger learners into this immersive world.

International Montessori believes the best way for a young mind to excel in a foreign language is through a complete immersion program. Our well-established legacy provides an authentic Montessori education in a nurturing environment.

We believe:

“Children acquire knowledge through experience in the environment.”

— Maria Montessori

Our New Infant Spanish Immersion Program (12 - 18 months)

This new program is designed specifically for our youngest learners, introducing Spanish through everyday routines, sensory exploration, and nurturing interactions. In a safe, prepared environment, infants engage in activities like soft play with bilingual toys, Spanish lullabies, and gentle movement exercises that promote motor skills and emotional bonding. Our certified Montessori guides speak exclusively in Spanish, helping babies absorb language naturally during this critical window of brain development.

This program operates at our Jollyville Campus with small group sizes (max 8 infants) for personalized care. Tuition and schedules align with our toddler programs, with flexible half- or full-day options.

The Three Avenues of Spanish Immersion

Edit Content

1. Spanish Immersion

Being immersed in a Spanish speaking environment helps your children to learn and understand culture and language. The use of the Spanish language works not only as a powerful tool for individual development, but also to strengthen community bonds. Being bilingual significantly impacts how we relate to others: higher levels of empathy, deeper connections, and, ultimately, more self-confidence. The mastery of Spanish language is an increasingly necessary and valued competence worldwide, particularly in the United States. International Montessori is a community for your child to explore, play, work, wonder, interact and live in Spanish.

2. Montessori Inspired

Montessori education is based on hands-on learning, self-expressing, and collaborative play in an environment that promotes respect, peace, and joy. Children develop a deep love of learning being guided by their interests and exercising freedom of choice while also taking responsibility for the impact of their actions over the community as a whole.

3. Nature-based

Our students spend a lot of time outside. We purposely schedule free unstructured play time within our children’s day and also facilitate collaborative games. We aim to foster the community’s environmental consciousness by designing hands-on experiences, like cultivating our own garden, collecting rainwater, caring for animals or composting. Our “Art and Nature” program keeps children of all ages engaged outdoors all afternoon long.
