Our Story
At International Montessori, we have a well-established legacy of providing an authentic Montessori education in a nurturing environment for young children. Our curriculum follows Dr. Maria Montessori’s time-tested pedagogy and we pride ourselves in upholding the highest standards of a Montessori environment. Our teachers and staff continually further our education and work to maintain our commitment to providing the very best learning environment for the students in our care.
We see our families as an extension of our own. We celebrate an authentic spirit of service towards our children and their families as a part of our community. We believe in school-family partnership and encourage active family engagement in our students’ education. Through progress reports, real-time messaging, and photos and videos via our secure app, our families can see how their children are flourishing in the Montessori classrooms.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower children with active creative minds through Dr. Maria Montessori’s influential educational philosophy that emphasizes independence, freedom within limits, and discovery. We maintain prepared learning environments that will improve skills necessary for success by nurturing the development of the whole child – cognitive, social, emotional, and physical.
Our History
Our legacy began 1965 with our founder Mrs. Iranganie Weerasuria and we’ve been providing a true Montessori experience ever since.
